Anybody have any thoughts on what is the best video poker game for beginners?
I would say Deuces Wild, the full-pay version of course. Here are my chief reasons. 1. The player edge is the best, at least at the time I'm writing this. 2. It is pretty simple to learn. Of course, it seems like most casinos think the same thing, so they limit these games to twenty-five cents. Still, that's probably another bonus, since the new player's losses won't be so high. I would probably move up to full-pay Double Bonus after that. It's a little harder to master, but the payoffs are higher, since you can play $1.00 versions. |

I think Jacks or Better is the best choice to start with, because understanding the basics of Jacks or Better strategy is a good opening point toward understanding the strategy for all the other games.
The paytables for Deuces Wild vary pretty widely too, so it's hard to judge what the best version in the casino is. |
