3.5 Million Dollar Lottery Ticket Unclaimed
As reported by the Hartford Courant: "State lottery officials have closed the book on a Lotto ticket worth $3.5 million sold on Feb. 14, 2006.
"The year-long deadline to claim the prize has passed, and officials have rejected 186 formal claims from people who said they lost the winning ticket, lottery spokeswoman Diane Patterson said Tuesday. The ticket with numbers -- 15, 17, 19, 26, 37 and 38 -- was sold at the Getty Mart on Boston Turnpike in Coventry on Feb. 14, Patterson said…"
I can't believe that 186 people actually thought that they could collect the prize money just by saying that they'd lost the ticket. Of course, maybe 185 are liars and one is actually telling the truth.
