BetonSports Injunction
Internet betting firm BetonSports has agreed in court to a permanent injunction barring it from taking wagers from customers in the U.S. The action ends a civil case stemming from indictments unsealed in July of 2006, but the company and some of its employees still face criminal charges related to illegal gambling.
BetonSports, which has not accepted wagers from American customers since July 19, is already completing the closure of operations in Costa Rica and Antigua. Trading of BetonSports' shares on the London Stock Exchange were suspended on July 17.
