Default Atlantic City Video Poker Trip Reports

Atlantic City Video Poker Trip Reports

You know what this site needs and doesn't have enough of?

Atlantic City video poker trip reports.

If you've been to Atlantic City lately, and you're a video poker player, then we're interested in your trip report. If you're willing to write a detailed, elaborate trip report, we'll even pay you for it. Private message me for details about that.

Atlantic City is a video poker destination that I haven't visited yet. All my experience playing video poker has been in Las Vegas and Reno. (And yeah, in Oklahoma, although that barely counts, IMO.)

But please, come share information with us regarding your last video poker trip to Atlantic City: Where'd you stay? Where'd you eat? How much did you win playing video poker? Did you see any shows?

We want your Atlantic City video poker trip reports.

Default Tropicana

I just got back from the Tropicana. They actually payed me $312 to come back! I hadn't been in a couple of years. I had $42 welcome back cash,$70 to play the new havana slots and $200 which was available only for a limited time. Also recieved a $50 food comp. And I always get 2 free nights. I play 9/6 Jacks or better normally. Usually at the 50 cent level. I probably bet more than $2000 into the machines last trip, losing 4-$500. Comps were based on that amount of betting and the fact they are in bankruptcy probably had something to do with the generous comps as they try to lure more players into the casino. Buffet is way expensive and just ok. Nothing special. I wouldn't go there without a comp. It's around 20 bucks for breakfast and 25 for dinner. It was better than last time though. They bought back shrimp. They had done away with them on my last trip. Oh yeah I also had 4 times the normal rate on my players card. Around 1% probably. .75% you took with you at the end of the trip and .25% you got on your return. I found 4 9/6 Jacks or Better machines at the $1 level. Had some extra money in my pocket so I played them pretty heavy. I had over $60 on my card at the end of the trip so i put over $6000 through the machines.(assuming 1% back) Anyone know what % the players card pays back normally? I've asked but nobody seems to know at the a Trop.I actually made a profit on the trip even with the expense of a rental car on the trip. So it will be interesting to see what my comps are for the next trip. Appeared to be fewer video poker machines overall since last trip. Drove over to the Borgata and found 4 9/6 Jacks or better 1$ machines. Got a card and played for a half hour. Maybe I'll get a free meal . If I come back. We'll see.

Default Pausing between hands

Anyone ever experimented with pausing between hands at video poker. When I'm doing well and win say 5 or 6 hands in a row playing quickly followed by 1 or 2 losing hands I will pause just a few seconds to let the machine shuffle the cards and resume play. My hope is that since the machine is suppose to shuffle the cards until you hit the deal button , when i resume play I will continue my winning streak of winning more hands than not . It has been my experiance that after the machine experiances a hot streak of 5-10 hands the next 5-10 hands are worse. That's the thinking. Make any sense? Obviously I don't know when to stop or start back up. I just feel i want to do something to keep the machine hot . And i have had some success. I won close to 300 dollars on my recent trip at the dollar level 9/6 Jacks or better. Put around 6000 dollars through the machine so i played a lot. I have in the past before they started using tickets to pay you taken 100 coins and ran my credits up to 500 credits at which point the machine starts spitting out coins over 500 credits since thats all the hopper use to hold. I read about pausing years ago. No proof was given as to it's effectiveness.

Default

HELLO FELLOW POKER PLAYERS: I USUALLY PLAY VP AT THE TAJ, BORGATA, SHOWBOAT AND JUST RECENTLY AT HARRAH`S. I HAVEN`T PLAYED AT THE TROP IN AT LEAST 10 YEARS. FOR YEARS I HAVE DONE WELL AT THE TAJ. THE PASS 2 YEARS I HAVEN`T BEEN AS LUCKY. THEY HAVE BEEN REMOLELING THE WHOLE HOTEL AND CASINO. THE REMOVED SOME OF MY FAVORITE POKER MACHINE AND REDUCE THE NUMBER OF MACHINES. DURING THIS PROCESS I THINK THEY PROBABLY CHANGE THE CHIP IN THOSE MACHINES. I HEARD THAT UNDER N.J. LAW THE CHIP CANNOT BE CHANGE IN THE MACHINE WHILE IT IS ON THE FLOOR. IF THEY TAKE THE MACHINE OFF THE FLOOR THEY ARE PERMITTED TO CHANGE THE CHIP. THE TAJ DID BRING BACK ON OF MY FAVORITE GAME AND THAT IS DEUCES & JOKERS WILD GAMES. THEY HAVE THESE IN 5¢, 25¢, 50¢, $1 ON A MULTI- GAME MACHINE.
I LIKE PLAYING AT THE BORGATA THEY HAVE SUPER BONUS DEUCES WILD MACHINES IN MULTI-DENOM MACHINES. WHAT I LIKE ON THIS GAME IS IF YOU GET 5ofK WITH 1 WILD CARD IT PAYS 800 COINS (5 cions bet).
HARRAH`S AND SHOWBOAT HAVE A COUPLE OF GAMES I LIKE ALSO.
THE ADVANTAGE OF PLAYING AT HARRAH`S PROPERTIES IS THAT THE COMPS ARE GOOD AT ALL THERE CASINO`S. NOW THAT HARRAH`S HAS A RACINO OUTSIDE PHILA. AND IT IS A 30 MINUTE DRIVE THIS COULD BE TO CONVEINANT.
IF YOU GET A LOT OF DEUCES AND GETTING WINNING HANDS THIS HELP TO BUILD THE COMPS $ UP.
RPMONEY: SOMETIMES WHEN THE MACHINE STARTS TO GIVE GARBAGE HANDS AND I`M LOSING. I WILL SLOW DOWN OR CHANGE GAMES OM A MULTI-GAME MACHINE.
