After slow ticket sales, the Dixie Chicks have been forced to cancel tour dates in Kansas City, Houston, St. Louis, Memphis, Knoxville, and 9 others. They have also pushed back dates in Nashville, Los Angeles, Denver, Phoenix, and others.

Sales have been lackluster in some markets, especially in the South and Midwest. Several Canadian cities have been added to replace the cancelled dates.

They have received a great amount of criticism after lead singer Natalie Maines told a London audience in 2003 that she was "ashamed" President Bush was from her home state of Texas.

And despite their latest album "Taking the Long Way" selling more than 1 million copies, country radio stations have been slow to welcome them back.
