Tropicana
I just got back from the Tropicana. They actually payed me $312 to come back! I hadn't been in a couple of years. I had $42 welcome back cash,$70 to play the new havana slots and $200 which was available only for a limited time. Also recieved a $50 food comp. And I always get 2 free nights. I play 9/6 Jacks or better normally. Usually at the 50 cent level. I probably bet more than $2000 into the machines last trip, losing 4-$500. Comps were based on that amount of betting and the fact they are in bankruptcy probably had something to do with the generous comps as they try to lure more players into the casino. Buffet is way expensive and just ok. Nothing special. I wouldn't go there without a comp. It's around 20 bucks for breakfast and 25 for dinner. It was better than last time though. They bought back shrimp. They had done away with them on my last trip. Oh yeah I also had 4 times the normal rate on my players card. Around 1% probably. .75% you took with you at the end of the trip and .25% you got on your return. I found 4 9/6 Jacks or Better machines at the $1 level. Had some extra money in my pocket so I played them pretty heavy. I had over $60 on my card at the end of the trip so i put over $6000 through the machines.(assuming 1% back) Anyone know what % the players card pays back normally? I've asked but nobody seems to know at the a Trop.I actually made a profit on the trip even with the expense of a rental car on the trip. So it will be interesting to see what my comps are for the next trip. Appeared to be fewer video poker machines overall since last trip. Drove over to the Borgata and found 4 9/6 Jacks or better 1$ machines. Got a card and played for a half hour. Maybe I'll get a free meal . If I come back. We'll see.
